A quick look at last week’s centers shows how much our kindergarten students have progressed. The math center performed subtraction problems on the smart board. The poetry center read mother goose rhymes, arranging sentences in order, substituting words like “diamond” for nightlight, flashlight, or other things that twinkle. The word center made books using the words on the word wall. Lastly, Mrs. Flores had her own center where students worked on their reading skills.
Throughout the course of the year we have studied a few 3D shapes. We are beginning to learn about cylinders now. Each student is going to bring a cylander into class with them, which we are incorporating into 3D cylinder sculptures.
In Our Words:
What is your message for Little Red Riding Hood?
Don’t go into the woods because there are wild animals in there and they could eat you up and your mom is going to be looking for you. Amber
Don’t go in the woods because wild animals are in there and they can tear you up into little pieces. Layla
Don’t go in the woods, there is a no good kind of wolf in there. Shandea
Don’t go into the forest because there are some creatures in the forest and they might scare you and they might eat Little Red Riding Hood's Grandma. Rasheed
