

The application process for the Community Partnership School is much like the one that Germantown Academy uses. A completed application is followed by a parent interview for qualified applicant families and a “play day” where the child comes for interaction and observation.
At Saturday morning observation sessions, CPS teachers are joined by volunteer teachers from GA and Episcopal Academy to work with and observe the children while the parents meet with Charley Muir, Project Coordinator and Lynn Gadsden, Chair of the CPS board.
The process also focuses significantly on the child’s family, as studies have equated parental involvement with students’ success.
Our process has shown that the families who apply are very serious about education. They value academic excellence, good citizenship, community pride, extracurricular opportunities, and developing lifelong learners.
